26th November (Buy Nothing Day)
Probably due to the cold and
threatening rain, only a small number of competitors arrived. Three cheers
for El Miguel though for bringing beer and offering to be the referee, base
camp protector and camera man. Shortly after the arrival of the competitors
came the BND people who offered us all sandwiches. The Police also had a look
in asking us if we were with the clowns (also on Oxford Street on Saturday).
After Bristly had sorted out our lack of Start/Finish line using some salt
and sugar from Pret on a piece of astro turf, we took our marks. We all got
of to a false start thanks to a faulty party banger failing to go of, however
everyone was too excited to stop and ran as fast as humanly possible. Running
from shop to shop each individual did their best to collect bigger and better
items than their competitors. Once the 30 minutes were up everyone rushed
back to the finishing line to cheers from late arrivals and a member of the
paparazzi.

Zargof who worked in tandem with Le Car Noir to collect this splendid pile deffinately took first prize for number of items gathered, not to mention size.
